Useful things to include when contacting
In order to get the best response and a realistic quote, these are some really helpful things that can help kickstart the conversation. Please take the approach that there is no useless information and there are no stupid questions.
- Do you have an existing site? Are you looking for updates or a new site build? Unsure... that's ok, just say.
- Potential budget and timeframe you have.
- Key features required - you don't need to understand the 'how', but what do you want the website to do?
- Your technical level. It's totally cool to be a novice, but if you have a dedicated internal person(s) that will be involved, that is useful to know.
- What is the main purpose for your website (ie explain your company, reach new customers, explain services, champion a cause).
When NOT to contact
- If you are a salesperson
- If you are a recruiter/recruitment agency
- If you are looking for an internship (sorry, I don't have the capacity, but good luck!)
